Context
SAP Ariba operates one of the world's largest business networks, connecting millions of buyers and suppliers globally.
Supplier records feed billing and compliance processes further down the line. When a record is incomplete, the problem does not stay in the network: it surfaces later, where it is harder and more expensive to fix.

The challenge
As the network scaled, incomplete supplier records - missing credit card details and tax identifiers - caused downstream billing and compliance failures.
Enforcement depended entirely on manual follow-ups via emails and tickets, with no structured escalation path and no centralised visibility into enforcement status or supplier responsiveness.
